Booking Information & Terms

The terms for this checkout, in one place

These terms govern this retreat checkout. Your private invitation confirms eligibility for this small, invitation-led pilgrimage. There is no separate booking agreement to locate or sign. Terms version 2026-10-17-v4, effective 17 October 2026. Later updates apply prospectively unless required by law or accepted by the booked guest.

01

Invitation and place confirmation

Checkout is reserved for the person named in a private invitation from Shambhala Foundation. The name and email entered on Stripe must match that invitation. An invitation alone does not reserve a place. A full payment confirms the booking once verified. Under a two-payment plan, the first payment provisionally reserves the place and the booking becomes fully confirmed only when the final balance has been paid and verified. An uninvited or unmatched payment does not create a booking and will be refunded to its original payment method.

02

Programme and timing

This is an eight-day March Equinox journey from 15 to 22 March 2027, with Amritsar from 15 to 18 March (four calendar days and three nights) and Dharamshala from 18 to 22 March (five calendar days and four nights). The transfer on 18 March is included in both location spans; the overall retreat remains eight days and seven nights and practice centred around the night of 20 to 21 March. Arrival time, departure time, meeting point, and transfer times will be sent directly to booked guests. The order or timing of visits may change when required by sacred-site rules, local permissions, weather, transport, supplier conditions, or participant safety.

03

Accommodation

The selected shared or private room category applies throughout the included overnight stays. In Dharamshala, five-star accommodation is planned, with Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort as the preferred property. The preferred hotel remains subject to group contracting and availability, and an equivalent five-star Dharamshala property may be substituted if needed. The Amritsar property is pending confirmation and is not represented as five-star at this stage. The selected room category will not be changed without the guest's agreement.

04

Guest cancellation and refunds

A cancellation takes effect when the Foundation receives the request through its contact form. The refundable amount will be the retreat payments received, less documented supplier costs already committed and attributable specifically to that booking, and any processing or currency fees that are not returned to the Foundation. We will provide a written calculation. An approved refund will be initiated within 14 calendar days, although Stripe and the guest's bank may require additional processing time. As the retreat approaches, committed costs may mean that the recoverable balance is limited or zero. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

05

Foundation cancellation or material change

If Shambhala Foundation cancels the retreat in full, retreat-package payments received will be refunded. If the Foundation makes a material change to the retreat dates or principal destinations, removes a substantial part of the included programme, or cannot provide the stated five-star Dharamshala accommodation standard, a booked guest may accept the change or request a refund of the retreat-package payments received. The Foundation cannot reimburse independent flights, visas, insurance, or other personal arrangements, so suitable travel insurance is strongly recommended.

06

Transfers and name changes

A retreat place cannot be resold or transferred automatically. A transfer may be considered before travel only for another person who has been privately approved by the Foundation, and only where hotels and other suppliers permit the change. Any non-recoverable supplier or name-change cost remains the responsibility of the original guest.

07

Pay-it-forward scholarship

A scholarship contribution is made separately in a customer-chosen USD amount and does not give admission priority. It is considered allocated only when the Foundation records it against an approved scholarship participant or a specific supplier commitment for that participant. The Foundation keeps an internal allocation record. An unallocated scholarship contribution may be refunded on request. Once allocated, it is not refundable except where required by law. If the Foundation cancels the retreat, any unallocated scholarship contribution will be returned unless the contributor asks for it to remain available for future assistance.

08

Traveller responsibilities and conduct

Each guest is responsible for passports, visas, insurance, health and medical decisions, personal medicines, independent travel, personal expenses, and timely arrival at the confirmed meeting point. Please do not book non-refundable independent travel until final logistics have been confirmed. Guests must respect sacred-site rules, local law, group safety, and the contemplative nature of the retreat. Serious unsafe or disruptive conduct may lead to removal, with only recoverable unused supplier amounts eligible for return.

09

Payment plans, privacy, and the nature of the retreat

All retreat payments are received by Shambhala Astro Limited. Full payment is US$5,800 for shared accommodation or US$7,700 for private accommodation. A two-payment plan, when available, consists of exactly two payments of US$3,003 for shared accommodation (US$6,006 total), or exactly two payments of US$3,990 for private accommodation (US$7,980 total). These totals include the agreed premium; no further surcharge is added. The second payment is not charged automatically. A separate second-payment checkout link will be provided directly to the booked guest. All payments, including the second instalment, must be completed by 1 January 2027. If the final balance is not paid by that date, the provisional reservation may lapse and the guest cancellation terms apply to amounts already received. Stripe processes card details, which are not collected or stored by this website. The Foundation receives the booking name, contact details, accommodation and payment-plan choice, payment reference, and payment status needed to administer the retreat. Please send health or accessibility information privately through the contact route rather than entering it into Stripe. Teachings, medicines, practices, and sacred-site visits are offered within their stated traditional and contemplative context; no medical, spiritual, or personal outcome is guaranteed.
